The X Iberian Cup of Falconry has been held in Macedo de Cavaleiros (Portugal) the last weekend of January. The large number of participants made the X Cup a success.
The 70 birds participating in 4 modalities, coming from both countries, measured their feathers to the wind ensuring a good exhibition and the success of the meeting.
Another of the attractions of this meeting was the celebration of the I Interpaises Trophy Spain-Portugal. The I Interpaises Trophy consisted in gathering one team for each country with 4 members; one hawk, one Harris, one goshawk and one of the small birds. The team was formed with the best scores from Saturday and the team vests were given at dinnertime. On Sunday the 8 selected competed for the Cup as each year, but the scores of the members of each team added up making a total score from which a winning team.came out.
The conferences of Diego Pareja Obregón and Pedro Alfonso, representatives of the respective Spanish and Portuguese associations of falconry were another incentive of the Portuguese encounter.
AYAMA participates like previous years with some equipment (transmitters) Ares as awards to the winners of the different categories.
Congratulations to all the participants and especially the organizers for this new initiative in the organization of the first Interpaises trophy.
