Sensors
Optional sensors:
- Temperature sensor
- Death detector
- Magnetic switch
- Activity or position detector:
CLASS I Position detector.
This detector enables you to know wich one of two possible positions of the animal thanks
to
different rates for each position. It can also be used as an activity detector in
slow-moving
animals.
SHORTCOMINGS: The overall battery
life-time is considerably reduced, because one
of the rates is much more quick than necessary, in order for us to be able to discriminate
it from the slower one.
CLASS II By using
just one rate according to the kind of animal, you can get occasional variations
which determine the activity of the animal.
ADVANTAGES: the
battery life-time can be considerably higher than that of the previous
class, and it can be used with quicker animals.
CLASS III
Taking an adequate rate for the kind of animal, this rate is removed and superseded by the
rate of the movement of the animal, until it no longer moves.
ADVANTAGES: It can reproduce the activity
with great accuracy. Therefore it can be
used as a death detector.
